Description

With PhotoCopy you are able to copy all of your precious pictures from your camera to your PC. And not only for one camera, but you can create profiles for more than one camera, or different profiles for one camera. Before the pictures are copied you may specify the name of the folder in which your pictures will be copied. The camera profile defines a base folder, the pictures will be copied into subfolders of that base folder. These subfolders will be named after the date the picture was taken. You can specify whether the date will include the year, month and day (yyyymmdd) or only the month and day (mmdd). Furthermore you can also define whether all copied pictures are stored in the same folder (named after the date of the first picture), in the same folder for pictures takes on consecutive dates, or each date in its own folder. You can also specify that you want to set your own defined name each time a folder is created. Another feature is to preview the images before they are copied, this will also give you the opportunity to rotate them, or specify auto rotate if your camera is equipped with an orientation sensor. The rotate of the image will take place during the copy from the camera to the PC. Previewing the image can be via the thumbnail tab but also via a large preview window that will also display a histogram of the image and some, user selectable, exif info. With this info you can make a quick decision whether a picture must be copied to the PC or can be deleted because the image quality is too bad.

Besides copying, PhotoCopy is also able to backup your copied pictures to a backup location. All files copied since previous backup and also files and folders you may have added beside the copied files will be backed-up. To remember you to make a backup, backup warning levels can be specified. When one or both of these levels is reached a non-intrusive warning message will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. You may define levels for the number of days since previous backup and when the number of files that are copied, but not yet backed-up, has reached a given amount.

PhotoCopy will of course remember which files you've copied last or backed-up last and continues from there on the next time you start PhotoCopy. Optionally you may reset the date and time of the last copied file.

To use previously copied images from one or more profiles on a website or in a photoalbum you may define a so-called 'QuickPick'. With a QuickPick you can fastly select pictures, change their order, resize and/or rename them. it is also possible to fine rotate or crop the images or to perform some simple image adjusments like changing the brightness or contrast. The pictures will be copied to a new folder.
